Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1860 in West Virginia to Archibald Allen and Eveline Miller Sparr.

She married Lewis Curren Lynch in 1876 in Roane County, West Virginia.^[1]

They are mentioned in the birth records of several children including Estella Ann, born 14 Jul 1880^[2], Charles Oatis, born 05 Aug 1885^[3], Gillie Harrison, born 17 Mar 1892^[4], and John William, born 17 Mar 1892^[5], and Rome (aka Romeo) Estell, born 09 Jan 1900^[6].

NOTE: In the 1900-1920 US Census records there appear a couple named Lewis and Elizabeth (aka Catherine) Lynch living in Anthony's Creek, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. However, the children do not jive with the birth records noted above. There is only one child by the same name (John W) but the birth years are off by three or four years. Here is the information found on those census records. It may be for a different Elizabeth and Lewis Lynch. Although no other census records were found:

By 1900, the couple and their children were living in Anthony's Creek, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. There were eight children living at home at the time of the census: Mary Belle, George E, Sallie K, Samuel R, John W, Dollie J, Manerva, and Luther. Lewis was farming.^[7]

In 1910, she and Lewis were still living in Anthony's Creek, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. There were seven children in the home: Elmer, Sallie, Samuel, John, Dollie, Pearl, and Luther.^[8] Her husband, Lewis, was still a farmer. They were still there in 1920 with only two adult sons at home, John and Luther.^[9]

Elizabeth passed away in Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia, on 3 Mar 1920 of nephritis.^[10] Burial was in the Pauley Family Cemetery in Frame, Kanawha County, West Virginia.^[11]

Elizabeth and Lewis were mentioned in the death records of several children. Their son, Gillie Harrison Lynch, died on 11 Jun 1971.^[12] Howard Everett died 22 Dec 1941.^[13] Daughter, Dora Ellen Lynch Pauley, died on 14 Dec 1961.^[14]
