On 04 July 1737 Ephraim Cary, Jr. of Bridgewater was granted administration for the estate of Benjamin Allen. [2]
His estate inventory was taken on 07 July 1737 in Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. [3]
In October 1737 Mr. Ephraim Cary of Bridgewater was appointed guardian to his daughters, Mehitabel, and Hannah (both under the age of 14 years), and Mr. Matthew Allen, Jr., was appointed guardian of his sons Benjamin and Ephraim (who are under the age of 14 years). [4]
In 1740 an account of his debts and charges for the estate was presented and recorded. [5]
In 1754 his estate was divided among his children, Benjamin Allen (eldest son), Ephraim Allen, Hannah Edson, wife of John Edson, and Mehitabel Allen. [6]

Sadly, the death of Benjamin Allen b. 1702 Bridgewater, MA and presumed death of his wife Mehitable Cary b. 1709 Bridgewater, MA occurred before 1737. A document from the Plymouth County, Seventh Book of Wills and Inventories dated the Fifth day of October 1737 gives guardianship of his four children to two people. Sons Benjamin and Ephraim were given to the guardianship of brother Mathew Allen Jr, and daughters Hannah and Mehitable were given to the guardianship of brother Ephraim Cary.
Three children Benjamin, Ephraim, and Hannah Allen were baptized May 9th, 1736 in East Bridgewater MA. Mehitable Allen was baptized February 27th, 1736-7 taken from Vital Records of East Bridgewater Massachusetts to the year 1850 published by NEHGS 1917.
