Biography
Timothy Allen II was a Virginia colonist.
Timothy, son of Timothy Allen and Miss Lightwood the daughter of Douglas Lightwood, was born about 1614 and was christened on 6 July 1614 at St. Mary Aldermary, London, England. [1]
He married 29 April 1639 at St Mary, Le Strand, London, Middlesex, England, Frances Shippey (1614 - 1698) the daughter of Thomas and Martha Brown Shippey.[2]
Timothy Allen is known to be in Henrico County, Virginia by the 1670s; he received a land patent there in October 1673. An extra tax was assessed on his land by the Henrico Court 23 December 1679, as he was omitted in the appropriate yearly levy. (Note: This may refer to his son, Timothy Allen III.) [3]
Timothy passed away at 66 yrs. of age on 2 June 1679 Varina, Henrico, Virginia Colony.[4] He is buried in Henrico Parish Church Cemetery.
