Biography

Ann was born about 1616, in England. Her parents were possibly Benjamin & Hannah Alby.

She married 1st Bozoan Allen about 1638. They had 8 children all baptized in Hingham. Bozoan Allen died about 1652/53.

Ann married 2nd Joseph Jewett married in Boston, May 13, 1658 by Richard Bellingham Deputy Governor. They had 3 children all born in Rowley

She was buried Feb. 8, 1660/1. Ann Jewit the wife of Mr. Joseph Jewit buried the eight day 1660. [1]

"Her will dated Feb. 5, 1660, proved May 2, 1661, mentions: one hundred pounds that I have in my own dispose to be divided among these 4 of my children: John Allen; Ann Allen; Isaac Allen; & Bossom Allen, that covenant between Mr. Joseph Jewet & me; daughter Priscilla.

Noting that if she was born around 1616, earlier is likelier as otherwise she was having 3 children (in her 40s) in two years. No twins are mentioned and she may have died in childbed but it still looks odd.

According to the new volume of the Great Migration series, Bozoun Allen's first wife was Ann Robson, who married Bozoun on 16 April 1638 at Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire.
