Robert Allen, Sr., apparently felt there was no need to make a Will as he had deeded all his property to his sons. He made no provisions for the payment of his debts, and the court minutes have records of many lawsuits for debt, first against the widow and later against the sons of Robert Allen. One old friend, Hardin Burnley, who had witnessed the deed from Robert Allen, Sr., to his son, Robert Allen, Jr., in 1735, filed a lawsuit "for debt" against Robert Allen shortly before Robert's death. The suit was dismissed because of Robert Allen's death, and Mr. Burnley filed the suit against Sarah Allen soon after she bacame administrator of Robert Allen's estate. In April of 1756 Lydall Bacon filed a suit for debt against Sarah Allen, and shortly after that, suits were filed against Richard, Benjamin, and Joseph Allen and also against Samuel Allen, Sr. The following records were found in the Henrico County Court Minutes Book 1755-62:

1756/Jul/05 Harding Burnley vs. Robert Allen, in debt. John Mosby comes into court as security for def. Case continued. (p40)

1758/Jun/05 An account of the estate of Robert Allen, deceased, with the examiner's report is received and recorded. (p259)

The appraisal and the inventory of the estate of Robert Allen have not been found, though the court minutes stated they have been made and recorded. No estate settlement records have been found so his only known children are those who have been proven by deeds or whose births were recorded in the St.Peter's Parish Register.

A source is needed for a middle name of Samuel as it would be very rare for this date and place.

The children Judith, Anne, Jacoby, Margaret, Elizabeth may not belong to Robert.

It was his 2nd marriage to Sarah.

Could Walker or Winston have been a previous marriage surname for her ?

This profile has been linked to 2 sons named William. One of them is not his son. According to the source "Historical Southern Families v3" this profile's son William Allen was the one who was married twice ... m1: Ann Owen; m2: 1750 Frances Grant. Is everyone agreeable to detaching the wrong William profile ?

I am fine with deleting the extra William.
Allin-55 and Allen-21348 appear to represent the same person because: dups with same parents and same 2 wives. Note that one profile has a october death month which is actually when his estate was in probate per source "Historical Southern Families. v3"

Allen-8730 and Allin-55 appear to represent the same person because: Same father, possibly same wife and son Joseph b 1711. Same death details. Suggest merge into LNAB Allin, as several duplicates have already been merged into that LNAB. Thanks for reviewing.

Elizabeth Sarah Walker-8360 should be merged with Walker-2344 and Robert Allen-8730 should be merged with Robert Allin-55.

I don't see any evidence supporting Robert's parents, but perhaps a plausible case can be made. If not, the parents should be detached.
