Biography

Priscilla Allen was born on November 15, 1894 at Botsford NB.[1]

HOLLIS, Florence Priscilla - 100, Port Howe, Cumberland Co., died April 23, 1995, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Port Elgin, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Lewis and J. Etta M. (McNutt) Allen. She had been a resident of Port Howe for most of her lifetime and was known by everyone as Aunt Cilla. She was in fellowship at Port Howe Gospel Hall. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are daughters, Ina (Mrs. Ernest Cameron), Brockton, Mass.; Florence (Mrs. Hugh Cameron), Truro; Elsie (Mrs. William Cameron), Port Howe; Beatrice (Ethel) (Mrs. Alvin Bird), East Amherst; sons, Clair Cameron, Napa, Calif.; Ross Cameron, Port Philip, Cumberland Co.; Vernon Hollis, at home; 32 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Ross Cameron; second husband, Uriah Johnson Hollis: daughter, Irene Field; sons, Ivan Cameron in infancy, Allison Cameron, Ivan Hollis; sisters, Jennie, Elizabeth Ogden, Alma Thomas; brother, Harvey; grandchildren, Alvin Bird, Mabel Cameron; a great-grandson, Mark Wood. Visitation this afternoon and evening, funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday both in Allen's Funeral Home, Oxford, James McClelland officiating. Burial in Port Howe Cemetery.

When Priscilla celebrated her centennial birthday, a local news station (CTV or CBC) covered the event.
