Biography

Richard was born about 1670. He was the third son of Abraham Allen and Rebecca Clements.

He purchased Greenfield, Co. Cork before 1700.

Richard married Cecilia Palmer, daughter of Rev. Thomas Palmer JP of Kilmore (Kerry), in 1697. ^[1]

Children

1. Abraham of Ballyduane, Newmarket (Co. Cork) and Fermoyle, Duhallow (Co. Cork); married Mary Webb, daughter of Henry Webb.
2. Philip (b. c.1698) of Greenfield, married Margaret Purcell, daughter of John Purcell of Gurtmard (Co. Cork), on 25 July 1734.
3. Richard (d. 1786) of Coolavoosane; married Ellen Purdon
4. William (d. 1785); married Eliza Aldworth, daughter of Richard Aldworth of Newmarket (Co. Cork) on 21 January 1742.
5. George (d. 1789), of Bettyville (Co. Cork); married Mary Pierce
6. Kyrle, of Ballyholahane (Co. Cork); married (1) Catherine Campbell, daughter of Maj. Charles Campbell of Co. Kerry, (2) Jane Carmichael.
7. Mary married Philip Roe.

He died in 1752. ^[2]
