Biography

U.S. Southern Colonies Project logo
Thomas Alley was a Virginia colonist.

Thomas, son of Francis Alley and Welthian Snelling, was born in 1616 and christened on 30 June 1616 at Dean Prior, Devon, England.[1]

Research Notes

It is not confirmed that this Thomas Alley is the immigrant who arrived in Massachusetts in 1670. This Thomas supposedly lived in Virginia. It is possible he has been confused with the Alley family of Massachusetts.

There is a Thomas Alley in Isle of Wight, Virginia in the 1670s, unsure if it is this one. More research needs to be done.

Could you please review this profile? His death date of 1653 is prior to the birth of all of his purported children except the first born. As a result all these profiles are appearing in the errors lists. Either his death date is wrong or the details of the children is wrong.

Thanks very much

If he had children between 1660 and 1674 in Virginia he neither immigrated to nor died in Massachusetts. Sources are needed
