Alley Ancestors. By Gene Alley. "He was a Revolutionary Soldier. He was born in Henrico County, Virginia, and married in Washington County, Virginia. In Indiana, they lived in Decatur, Shelby and Franklin Counties. Samuel first enlisted when he was 16 in 1777 and served for four months. He enlisted again in 1779 and served for one month. His final hitch was in 1782, when he served for five months."
