Biography

The Alleys are living in Boyd County, Kentucky in 1860.[1] The household included Jacob, Malissa, William H, Sarah C, James P, Amos S, Abby J, Eliza M, and Charley T M. Jacob was farming with real estate valued at $500 and personal estate at $100. There was one person in the household over the age of 20 who could not read or write.

Jacob and Malissa's family were living in Boyd County, Kentucky in 1870.[2] With them were their children Sarah C, James, Amos, Abbie J, Elizabeth, Charles, Isiah, Josiah, Brid, Fanny, Melissa T, and Amelia E. Jacob was farming, while Malissa and Sarah were keeping house. The rest the kids, save for the youngest three, were in school. Their real estate was valued at $800 and personal property at $727.

In 1880, the Alleys were farming in Upper Ashland, Boyd, Kentucky.[3] The household included Jacob, Melissa, Lizzie, Charlie, Josiah, Uriah, Oliver, Melinda, Melissa (daughter), and Parmelia.
