Name: Gabriel Alley • Sex: Male • Marriage: 14 Nov 1819 • Marriage Place: St. John, Limerick, County Limerick, Ireland • Spouse: Charlotte Dickson • Source: An Index to the Marriages in County Limerick before 1st April 1845 as shown by The Church of Ireland Registers now Extant. This index to Anglican records is not limited to the actual Diocese of Limerick, but covers instead the county of Limerick, including the few parishes from the Dioceses of Emly and Ardfert that stray over the county borders. Marriages between a Protestant and a Catholic had, by law since 1746, to be celebrated in a Protestant church. There are a high number of these mixed marriages noted here. The marriage registers here indexed include: Abington, Diocese of Emly: 1813-1845; Adare, Diocese of Limerick: 1826-1845 (volume 1804-1826 is missing); Aney, Diocese of Emly: 1761- 1762, 1785 (from copy printed in the Memorials of the Dead); Ardcanny, Diocese of Limerick: 1802-1845; Ballingarry, Diocese of Limerick: 1698- 1715; 1730-1734; 1785-1845; Doon, Diocese of Emly: 1812-1845; Kilfergus, Diocese of Ardfert: 1815-1845; Kilfinane, Diocese of Limerick: 1804-1824; 1831-1845; Kilflyn, Diocese of Limerick: 1813-1845; Kilkeedy, Diocese of Limerick: 1803-1845; Kilmeedy, Diocese of Limerick: 1805- 1845; Kilscannel, Diocese of Limerick: 1825-1845; Rathkeale, Diocese of Limerick: 1744-1845; St. John, Limerick City: 1799-1845; St. Michael, Limerick City: 1799-1845; St. Munchin, Limerick City: 1734-1768; 1797- 1845; St. Mary, Limerick City: 1726-1754; 1759-1845; St. Patrick, Diocese of Limerick: 1700-1704 and one entry from 1774, plus the index to marriage license bonds of the Diocese of Limerick for 1844, with one other bond from 1827 and one from 1833.
