1866: Divorce: Note from his wife's Find-A-Grave Memorial
David came home from the war to find that his first wife(Malvinia Wolfe) Had been having an affair with a Confederate major, while he was incarcerated in the POW camp in Camp Chase, Ohio. David divorced his first wife in 1866. The judge granted him a divorce and forbade his first wife from ever marrying again.

Note from his wife's Find-a-Grave Memorial: David died between 1877 and 1880 leaving Susan with four baby girls to raise. All grew to adulthood and had families of their own.
