Private Herbert Allison was Killed in Action during World War I.
He was working as an adjuster for the Pittsburgh Steel company on June 5, 1917 when he registerd for the WWI draft [1]. He never married and had no children.

July 18, 1918
A combined French and American attack along the Marne marks the first in a series of coordinated Allied counter-offensives on the Western Front. Three French armies accompanied by five American divisions cross the Marne River. In the face of this assault, the German 7th and 9th Armies begin a withdrawal from the Marne.[4]
