Biography

Birth: JUN 1847 in Haywood County, NC

Military Service: CSA Pvt. NC 14th Battalion Cavalry

Married Sophia A. Henry (1848-1884), his first cousin, in 1867. They had six children before Sophia was found beaten to death in April, 1884 at their home, pregnant with twins (who died with their mother). She was 35 years old.

In Sept. 1884, he married Louise Jane Elmira ("Lonesome") Smith (1846 - 7/20/1928), with whom he had at least three more children
