Biography

Vergil was born in April 1898 in Brownwood, Brown, Texas, USA. He was the son of James Buchanan Allison and Nancy Adelaine (Norie) Allison.[1][2].[3]

In 1900 Virgil (age about 1) was living in Justice Precinct 1, Jackson, Texas, USA. [4]Marital Status: Single. Relation to Head of House: Son.

In 1910 Virgil (age about 11) was living in Justice Precinct 2, Limestone, Texas, USA. Marital Status: Single. Relation to Head of House: Son.[1]

Vergil served in the United States Armed Forces in World War I from 19 Oct. 1917 to 30 Apr 1919.[3][5] He served as a private in the United States Marine Corps.[2]

Admitted on 22 August 1932 with arthritis, Vergil was listed as living at the United States National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Leavenworth, Kansas, United States. This record states he was a widow.[6]

Vergil registered for the World War II Draft on 16 February 1942 at Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas, United States.[7] He was working for W. F. Ossenfort, U. S. Public Health Service.

In the 1950 census Virgil (age 52), Mineograph Oper, was the married head of household in Waco, McLennan, Texas, United States.[8]

Vergil, son of J B Allison & Nannie Moris, died (age 62) on 24 May 1960 in Marlin, Falls, Texas, United States He had been liviung at 2109 First Avenue, Waco, Texas, United States.[3] His usual occupation was mineogrpah operator. He was buried in Rosemound Cemetery. The informant was Mrs. Lucy P. Allison, his wife.

Vergil is buried in Rosemound Cemetery, Waco, McLennan County, Texas, United States with a death date of 24 May 1960.[2]

Research Notes

There is a widowed Vergil D. Allison living in Dallas, Texas, United States in 1930. Hoiwever, the birthplace of his parents are listed as Oklahoma, which does not match the information from other census.[9]
