Biography

Mary (Allyn) Newberry immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Mary was a descendant of Walleran de Cirencester, a Magna Charta Baron. Her mother was Margaret Wyatt, daughter of John Wyatt, of Inner Temple, London, and Frances Chichester. Frances was a descendant of Walleran de Cirencester, a Magna Charta Baron. Margaret married Matthew Allyn in Braunton parish, Devonshire, 2 Feb 1626. Their daughter Mary Allyn m. Benjamin Newbury of Windsor Conn.[1]

Marie, daughter of Matthew Allin & Mris. Margt was baptized 20 Jan 1627/8 at Braunton, Devon, England..[2][3]

Mary Allyn married Benjamin Newberry 11 Jun 1646, at Windsor, Connecticut.[4] [5] Benjamin was a Major, townsman, Deputy, member of the Council of War etc.[6]

Mrs. Mary Newbury died 29 July 1689, just a few months before her husband on 11 Sept 1689.[4]
