Convict William Amos was born in 1812 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. He was Transported to Australia on the convict ship 'Isabella' for pick pocketing in 1832. At the time of his conviction he was described as being 5 foot 6 & 1/4 inches tall, ruddy freckled complexion with sandy hair, grey eyes and, tattoos.
He received his Ticket of Leave in 1838. and went on to marry Elizabeth Blanch on October 13, 1840. They married at or about Raymond Terrace, New South Wales, Australia.
William and Elizabeth went on to have about 13 children.
William passed away in June 1895 at Ulmarra, New South Wales, Australia. He is buried at Grafton Cemetery, Villiers Street, Grafton, NSW.
