Godfrey was born in 1834 in Challock, Kent, England. [1] Godfrey , wife Mary and 7 children arrived in NZ on board the ship "Stad Haarlem" in 1879. After landing passengers in the South island, The ship again landed in Wellington where the Amos family were bound for.[2]
