Biography
After high school graduation, Melvin attended the University of Wisconsin. When WWII broke out he enlisted in the army onDecember 14, 1942. After the war he worked for a time selling insurance in Wild Rose and later worked for the Crane Plumbing Company as a salesman and later as plant manager. He married Beverly Murty on 20 August 1944 in Wild Rose, Waushara, Wisconsin and had two children: Pam and Michael. They divorced in 1955.
