To answer your question about the Andersons living in Dubbo,I think the last of George Matthews children, Kelvyn died about July 2000, in Dubbo. There was brother of Kelvyn in Victoria ,Edwin( AKA Mick) that I spoke to on the phone in 1997,who was older than Kelvy so I suspect he also is gone.He was the family historian so it would be interesting to find where his notes ended up.Many of George Matthews children died of ,or suffered from, a form of stomach cancer, my Grandmother and Kelvyn included. These two are the only ones of George Mathews children I knew.I don't think I ever met any of Mum's Anderson cousins either. George Matthew Anderson and Mary Jane Owers had (allegedly) 7 children and one adopted one.Mary was not faithful to George and at least some of the children are not his.My great uncle Kelvin (he didn't mind talking about the family skeletons)said that my Grandmother Gladys and possibly Grace are the only ones they are sure were his.

LOST IN SCRUB. Man's Privations Searchers' Vain Efforts

UNAWARE that the object of their search, George. Anderson, 62, a sleeper-cutter, who had been lost in the Pilliga scrub since Wednesday had been found by a bullock driver, 17 miles from his camp, that morning, Constable Livermore, with three experienced bushmen, left Baradine on horseback at daybreak yesterday, and combed the thick scrub all day covering more than 60 miles. Anderson was discovered wandering on a rarely used track, suffering from exposure. His waterbag was empty, and he had not eaten since Wednesday morning. According to his story, Anderson had been working on Wednesday a mile from his hut. Late in the afternoon the sky became overcast, and he started back to his camp. He was not familiar with the scrub and followed the wrong track. He remembered little of his- tramping through the thickly timbered country. All the time his faithful cattle dog remained with him, and he shared his master's water. The party led by Constable Livermore returned to the town after its arduous search.

I'm the 4th gen granddaughter of Anne Maria Everingham and Patrick Heffernan. Anne was married to James Anderson and had a family by him. Patrick was her second husband. I have really enjoyed reading about the Anderson family. There is not much known about my grandfather Patrick . Many thanks to all regards Kerry Douglas.
