Biography

Albert was born about 1860. He arrived in NZ around 1885 and got married in 1887. [1] He was a builder.[2] He passed away in 1927 and was buried in Bromley Cemetery.[3] [4]

Research Notes

  • He may also have a son: Andrew James Anderson. BDM birth is 1896/17444 and lists "Sarah Ann" and "Bernard" as the parents. On ancestry, there is a record for Andrew's NZ Expeditionary Force form that lists his father as having been born in Norway. I'm not 100% confident with Albert's listed country of birth so it could be wrong.
  • Based on family stories, Albert was born at sea near Sweden due to his father being a sea captain, but may actually be Norwegian.
  • He may have spelt his name Andersen rather than Anderson.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Albert by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Albert:
