William ANDERSON was born in late 1809 in Lynn Regis (King's Lynn) Norfolk. [1]
He was the son of the Stone Mason Robert ANDERSON and Ann (nee RIPPER). William was also a Stone Mason and Pavier, continuing the generational trade craft passed down through the Anderson Clan who originated in Ross Shire in Scotland.
He married Mary, possibly LUSHER, in 1832.[2] Mary declares her birth town as Grimstone circa 1811.
In the 1851 Census, he is living in Gaywood where the children are born. In 1854 his wife, Mary, passed away and he is absent from the family home in the 1861 Census, re-appearing again in the 1871 Census in King's Lynn.
In the 1861 Census there is a putative entry for a Pavier born in King's Lynn, age approximately 50 y.o. with initials "W. A." - ascribed to William Anderson - appearing as an inmate of the Lynn Borough Gaol. It is know is that, in 1861, the two youngest children, William and Jane, are living with their aunt Mary and uncle Robert,[3] whereas John, Elizabeth Ellen and Robert, have moved to Wood St, King's Lynn where the family would remain for over 30 years.
William passed away in late 1876, aged 66.[4] [5]
