1. Place of birth, Denmark or Reno County, Kansas? – According to The Claus Andersen FAMILY TREE 1710 to 1955, Compiled and Published October, 1955 by C. M. Anderson, Bert was born in Reno County, Kansas. According to the Federal USA Census of 1900, however, Bert was born in Denmark (as were all of his brothers and sisters, according to the census taker). We can assume that the census information is wrong because John Peter Anderson did not marry until he came to the USA. Additionally, we know for certain that some of his other offspring were born in Kansas. HOWEVER, at the suggestion of another relative (Kathleen Kay O'Hara), I re-checked the 1900 USA Census and discovered the owner of the other Internet family tree made a mistake. The 1900 USA Census correctly shows the place of birth for Carrie to be in Kansas, and the place of birth for the parents to be in Denmark. Note the second image.
2. If I’m not mistaken, Bert's daughter, Lueva Mae, was born with Down syndrome. Therefore, it’s highly unlikely she would have ever married or had children.
