Biography

Alexander Craig Anderson was born on 4 May 1857 in Ogle, Illinois, United States. His parents were William Anderson and Marrion Craig. ^[1]

In the 1880 census Alexander (age 23) was living in Cherry Grove, Carroll, Illinois, United States. He was 21 years old and single. ^[2]

On 8 Aug 1888 he married Lizzie Bertram in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. ^[3] Together they had 4 children:

1. William Henry Anderson
2. Margaret Elizabeth Anderson
3. Agnes Estella Anderson
4. Edith Marian Anderson

In 1901 Alex, age 42, was living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with his wife and 3 children. ^[1]

In 1911 he was living in Nanaimo with his wife Elizabeth and 3 children. ^[4]

He died on December 11, 1915 in Nanaimo. British Columbia, Canada at the age of 58 years.^[5]

• Margaret Frams (abt.1807-) born in St Quivox, Ayrshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. The profile has no sources, so it's difficult to know if it her birth year was an error, but regardless, it's unlikely he married a woman 50 years older than him.
• Margaret Frame (abt.1794-) born in Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland, also with no sources. It's unlikely he married a woman 63 years older than him.

Both women are too old to be his parent, so it's unclear if there was any connection with this Alexander. It's likely Margaret Frams/Frame married a man with the same name as him, either in Scotland or upon immigrating to Canada, but likely between 1820-1835.
