Biography

Louis was born in 1845. He is the son of John Anderson and Issabella Boyd. Louis went to NZ as a young man,during the gold rush & married twice while there. He lived in NZ between 1870 & 1907. After his first wife died, he married Annie Hansen. He returned to Tasmania when he was 64 years old, with wife Annie & Children where he farmed land at Stowport. (Burnie, Tasmania) Thursday 16 July 1934 - DEATH & OBITUARY ... LOUIS ANDERSON - On July 15, The death occurred on Sunday morning at his residence, King street, Burnie, of Mr Louis Anderson. The late Mr Anderson, who was 91 years of age, was born at Cullenswood, Tasmania. At the age of 15 he went to New Zealand, and lived at Invercargill (South Island) for many years. While there he married Miss Annie Hansen, and later they returned and took up farming at Sulphur Creek, staying there for 7 years. Later he moved to Stowport, where he remained for 20 years, being engaged in farming. Recently he moved to the town. The surviving members of the family of the late Mr. Anderson consist of six sons and seven daughters

Thursday 19 July 1934 - the FUNERAL ... The remains of the late Mr. Louis Anderson, who died at his residence, Burnie, on Sunday, at the age of 91, were interred in the Wivenhoe cemetery yesterday afternoon. There was a large attendance at the funeral, and many floral tributes were received. Rev W. A. Hales officiated at the church and graveside. The chief mourners were
