Lucinda was born about 1793 in Goochland County, Virginia. She is the daughter of Meredith Anderson and Lucinda Unknown. She passed away in January 1870 in Miller County, Missouri.
Lucinda married Julius C. Bailey on 1 October 1810 in Goochland County, Virginia.[1] Statement filed with marriage bond affirms that Julius Bailey's father stated Julius was 21 years old at the time.[2]

"October the first 1810. This is to you to issue (?) license for Julius Baley to marry Lucy Anderson."

"Goochland County
This day Allen Hunter made oath before me that he heard Julius Baileys Father say that he was twenty one years of age. Given under my hand this 1st day of October 1810."

"Know all men by these presents, that we Julius Bailey & Allen Hunter are held and firmly bound unto John Tyler, esq, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the just and full sum of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars, current money, to be paid to the said Governor for the time being, and his successors in office, to which payment well and truly to be made, we do bind ourselves and each of us, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 1st day of October 1810.
The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound Julius Bailey and Lucy Anderson, now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force. Sealed and delivered, in the presence of

In 1820 Julius Barley [sic] and family were living in Barren County, Kentucky. In his household were himself (age 26-44), his wife (age 26-44). 2 sons and 4 daughters under age 10.[3] Several of the Bailey families migrated there about the same time. Also on the census in the same area were Richard Bailey, Samuel Bailey, Wm H Bailey, and Callum Bailey.
In 1830 Julius Bailey was still in Barren County. In his household are himself (age 30-39), 2 males and 1 female under age 5, 1 male and 3 females age 10-15, 2 females age 15-20.[4] Next door are his son-in-law and daughter, John B. and Lucinda Stone. On the other side of John B. is Meredith Anderson, father of Julius' wife Lucinda Anderson.
1840 finds the family still in Barren County. In the household are Julius S. Bayley [sic] (age 40-49), his wife (age 40-49), 1 female under age 5, 1 male age 10-15, 1 female age 20-30.[5] It is not known why Lucinda is not on this census. She may have been away visiting relatives.
By 1850 Julius had moved to join family members in Miller County, Missouri. In his household are himself, age 58, laborer, b VA; his wife Lucy, age 57, b VA; daughter Martha, age 12, b MO.[6]
In 1860 widow Lucinda (Anderson) Bailey is living in Richwoods Township, Miller County, Missouri. She is age 67, b Virginia, personal property $150. With her is her granddaughter, Martha J. Wheeler (age 13), daughter of Sarah Bailey and Tarlton Wheeler. Nearby is widowed daughter Samantha (Bailey) Stone and married daughter Martha Jane and her husband Curtis Wood.[7]
