He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Anderson, of Broughton, co. Lincoln [E., 1660] on 24 March 1846, and then "of Lea Hall, co. Lincoln." He held the office of Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1851. Sir Edmond Anderson, 1st Bt. had a fifth son, Francis Anderson, b. abt. 1631, m. 1st, Frances, dau. Staresmore of Frolesworth County Leicester; 2nd, Hellen, dau. William Anderson of Hull.

Francis' son, Stephen died without issue. Therefore, all male lines descending from Sir Edmond Anderson, 1st Bt. of Broughton have become extinct.
