Ah, I saw my grandmother laugh like a girl of ten when she was well past 65. At the Anderson Reunion, around 1965. She was surrounded by laughing, loving sisters and brothers who teased each other as if they were back growing up together. They posed for a family picture of the siblings, and I heard this quiet woman laugh right out loud. They sang, and danced a jig. We ate the best home-cooked food, and my great-uncles played checkers with me.
What a marvelous memory in the making it was. And over 50 years later, it still brings a smile.
