Anderson, John Sr. Farmer. United Empire Loyalist. Refused to leave with the main group on April 1, 1783, because he only had a "license for occupation" instead of the promised grant of land. He later arrived in Shelburne with a woman, 2 children and 3 servants. Obit. of Lunenburg: "Tailor. Born 1759 at Schuylkill near Philadelphia, died at home at age 70 on 10 January 1829. Came to Lunenburg in 1793 as a tailor & loyalist.[1] Married first to Hannah ____ ; 2) 1793 Margaret Bauer."[2]
