Research Notes
There is an agreement in the Scott Co, Virginia Wills book, 1816-1868 between John Anderson, Jacob Seavens, and John Moody. It appears tht the mentioned John Anderson was appointed Sheriff of Scott Co, VA. More investigation would be needed to see if this document if of interest for this John Anderson.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
I have done substantial research on Col. John Anderson, builder of the Blockhouse as Robin notes, and can provide any interested researchers with a lot of material on him if interested. The material includes a book, "The Blockhouse on the Holson," that I wrote some years ago and is being sold by the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Association at Natural Tunnel State Park in SW Virginia. Send me an email [email address removed] net if interested.
