Margaret had a twin brother Andrew. [1]They were born at Pitkennedy, Aberlemno in 1842 the third and fourth children of James Anderson, a quarrier and his wife Ann Ferguson. Andrew died young. She attended school at Aberlemno and on leavingg entered domestic service.
In 1862 she had an illegitimate daughter by Peter Anderson, a ploughman from Edzell.[2] The family attended the Free Church. She married at Pitkennedy Muir to James Geddes then a ploughman at Flemington.[3]They lived at Reekit Lane next to Carsegarange and Turinhill. Later moved to Battledykes, Oathlaw in 1872. About 1878 James left the ploghman's life and became Gardener at Gardyne Castle and then later gardener/ Coachman at Middleton where they lived in the West Gate House. About 1896 they moved to Parkhill Cottage when James was Coachman at Parkhill, St Vigeans.Margaret died there in 1905.
