Jesse Meador, son of Jesse Meador and Martha Johns, lived, married, and died in Cumberland County, Virginia, He would have been only about 9 years old in 1789. He is not the same as the Jesse Meador who married Mary Mann in Franklin County, Virginia that year. The marriage bond of 23 Feb 1789 shows Jesse Meador with his father Joel Meador Sr as surety. [1] This couple was married 26 Feb 1789 by Jeremiah Lumsden. [2] This register entry shows surety as Jacob Meador but the bond shows the signature as Joal.
The connection of Jesse Meador Jr. with the marriage to Mary Mann apparently comes from this incorrect source [3] Mary Mann should be disconnected from the children of Jesse Meador Jr as she was not their mother. She should also be removed as the wife of this Jesse. After these children and spouse have been removed from Mann-1095 she can then be merged with Mann-284.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
Mann-1095 and Mann-284 appear to represent the same person because: This profile was preciously connected to the incorrect spouse Jesse Meador. That connection has been severed. She was created and intended to represent the wife of Jesse Meador and should now be merged.
