The said Isaac Wade states that Isaac Anderson age 69 years a resident of Jones county in the State of Mississippi is the identical Isaac Anderson who was a private in the Company commanded by Captain John Kennan as well as he recollects. It may be Captain McNish other officers as recollected are Colonel Wimberly, Major Patton, Lieutenant Haines of the First Division of the Georgia Militia in the War with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 28th day of (Dec?)1812. The said Rigdon Powell states that he knows that the said Isaac Anderson did volunteer and went off into said service and did not return to his home in Twiggs County, Georgia as in the foregoing statement and affidavit made by Isaac Wade. In 1841 Col. J.F.H. Claiborne visited Jones Co, MS, recording his visit in his "Trip Through the Piney Woods," which was originally published in the Natchez Free Trader & Gazette. Part of it is in Jones County: Echoes from Our Past (p.159): "Isaac Anderson, Esq, who lives like a lord in sight of the courthouse, informed us that he had resided in the county 23 years. He has 10 children, 13 grandchildren, & 15 blacks...His brother (Asa) had 15 children, has resided here about the same time, & never had a case of sickness." On the Jones County 1841 Tax Roll is Isaac Anderson with 320 acres, $300, 75 cattle, & 7 slaves. The tax on all this amounted to $6.75. His wealth was increasing. On the 1838 Tax Roll he had 240 acres on the Talahala, $250, $1500 at interest, 3 slaves, & 1 pleasure carriage. His tax then was $6.47.
