Flag of Minnesota, USA

Karl Johan was born on sept 3, 1882 in Ärtebräckan, Erska parish and baptized on sept 5 the same year. Parents: Anders Andersson and Stina Karlsdotter who had been married for 13 years. Witnesses: Johannes Andersson and his wife from Trolltorp.[1]

This was his fathers second marriage and if I´m not mistaken he had 13 siblings/half-siblings although not all lived to be adults.

1898
He left home for the first time in 1898 when he was about 16 years old to be working as a farm hand for about a year before returning home to his family.

1902
In April of 1902 he left home for North America. When he leaves Sweden he is listed as Karl J. Andersson, 18 years old from Erska, Elfsborg and his destination states Minnesota Minneapolis. [2]

1906
Karl Johan married Ellen Elisabeth Englund in Hennepin, Minnesota, United States. One record states the date september 12 and another september 22, both in the year 1906. The one with Sept 22, 1906 has the witnesses George Englund (her brother) and Ida Andersson (who is probably his sister Ida Andersdotter/Anderson).

1966
On March 15, 1966 he passed away in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA
