Jemima Andrew was born in North Carolina on February 21, 1814. She became a member of the Friends Church at about age 21, and on February 4, 1835, she married David Reynolds at the Spring Monthly Meeting of Friends in North Carolina. In 1836, the couple relocated to Wayne County, Indiana, and in 1852, the family moved to Miami County, Indiana. David died in 1865 and in 1883, with her sons Jesse and David, Jemima removed to Kansas, where she became a member of the Harrisonville Monthly Meeting. Three weeks prior to her death, she returned to Amboy, Indiana to reside with son-in-law John Ridgway. There she died on December 1, 1888.
