Elizabeth Carvolth was probably born about 1590. Her parents were Richard Carvolth and his wife Jane (surname unknown) of Cubert in Cornwall.
Elizabeth married Bennet Andrew of Cubert. She is referred to as 'Elizabeth Andraw', in the will of her father's will made on 29 September 1623. Bennet Andrew was one of the appraisers of his father in law's probate inventory on 16 April 1628.[1] Her mother Jane Carvolth made her will on 13 October 1631 naming her daughter Elizabeth Andrew and Bennet Andrew and his children[2].
The bishops transcripts for the parish of Cubert in Cornwall contains baptisms for two sons of Bennet Andrew:
Nicholas, probably baptised 13 January 1613/14[3] and buried 29 July 1614[4]; and
Elizabeth is named in her husband's will along with another four children: Peter, Nicholas, Jane and Elizabeth for whom no baptism records have survived.[6]
The names of Bennet, Richard, Peter and Nicholas Andrewe are listed consecutively, in what appears to be a family group, in the protestation return of March 1641/42 at Cubert.[7]
Bennett Andrew died between July 1654, when he made his will, and 22 November the following year when the will was proved.
Elizabeth Andrew, widow, appears in the hearth tax return in 1662, but probably died soon after, as the 1664 return shows her two hearths in possession of Richard Andrew.[8] The administration of her estate was granted to her son Richard on 7 September 1664. Richard presented an account of his administration on 11 September 1666, the proceeds of the estate being divided between Richard and his sisters Elizabeth Jennens and Jane May.[9]
