Biography

Eliza was born in 1857, the daughter of Abraham Andrew and Catherine Druin. ^[1]The 1860 census shows her living in Rockingham County, Virginia, ^[2] and the 1870 and 1880 census shows her living in Augusta County, Virginia, with her parents and siblings. ^[3][4] In 1885 Eliza married David Valentine Rusmisel. ^[5][6] She passed away in 1893. ^[7]

Research Notes

The Rusmisel family lived on a farm next to or what is now part of the Natural Chimney's State Park at Mount Solon, Virginia, USA according to Willa Augusta Rusmisel Landes. Willa had two sisters and two brothers. When Willa was a five-year-old, her mother, Eliza Jane died. Her father, David Rusmisel, soon married his second wife, Regina Miller. They had seven more daughters.
