4/10/1983

The above was sent by Anna Tarr Campbell (Mrs. Floyd) to Anna M. Crouse some years ago, the handwritten notes being those of Anna M. Crouse. At the time the Campbells either had the bible or had access to it. Since that time, it has been learned that David Andrews died on the expedition in the frontier wars. It has also been learned from the Brooke Co., W.Va. records that Sarah Ledlie married Robert Brown 10 April 1817, the ceremony performed by George Buchanan. “

Additional information below is added from research I have done..

[The whereabouts of the original bible are unknown as of 2 June, 2016. The information included in this transcription suggests to me that the bible belonged to Mary Lusk as it contained her marriage to David, the births of all their children and her subsequent marriage to William Ledlie and the births of their 3 daughters. Anna Jane (Tarr) Campbell died in 1963 and her husband died in 1985, they had 2 children, a daughter who never married and a son, Warren D. Campbell who died in 2011 and left 3 surviving children who live in Jefferson County, Ohio.

Anna Jane Tarr Campbell is a first cousin of Anna M. Crouse, their MRCA was Mary Ann Crawford, Mary Lusk's granddaughter. There is every reason to believe the family bible had been handed down through daughters and granddaughters of Mary Lusk, the dates given for marriages and births are consistent with dates from other sources. If attempts to find and obtain scans or photographs of the original bible fail, this transcription will be a satisfactory substitute.]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with David by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with David:
