George was born in 1883. He was the son of Edwin Andrews and Annie Eden. [1]

George Andrews was Wounded in Action during World War I.

George Howard Andrews (Service number 15464) served in the Army during World War I,. A farmer in civilian life, he gave his next of kin as E. Andrews (father), of Brightwater, Nelson, He embarked 26 July 1916 aboard HMNZT 59 or HMNZT 60 the vessels Waitemata or Ulimaroa. He was a Private in the 15th Reinforcements, Canterbury Infantry Battalion, C Company of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force [2] He was reported as a "severe case in a recent hospital report" in 1916 [3]

He married Bessie Mary Rennell in 1920 [4]

He passed away in 1966 age 83 [5]
