Biography
He migrated in 1846 to Pennsylvania, USA. Following the death of his wife in 1854, he decided to follow his brother Joseph to Australia, and stayed at 'Woodside' for some time. He and four children (James, Samuel, Isaac, and Joseph) landed in Melbourne on July 13 1854 on the ship 'Norwood' from Liverpool. His twin sons, Samuel and Isaac, also came to Australia and went to the gold diggings in Victoria. During the latter part of his life James lived at 'Wauchope House', Wauchope, New South Wales, Australia, with his son Joseph Robert. He Died 30 August 1884 aged 76, at Wauchope. He is buried at Wauchope Cross Roads Cemetery.
