Biography

  • Oscar Andrews was born in 1890, the son of Abel C. Andrews and Amina White of Springhaven, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia[1] [2] [3]
  • Nova Scotia Vital Records shows another Oscar Andrews (son of William and Levila) of the same age in Digby was married in 1918[4] This second Oscar Andrews also appears in the 1911 Census, with DOB June 1890[5]
  • The same database shows two Oscar Andrews of the same age died in Digby in 1919 from the Spanish Influenza[6] [7]. It appears possible that Oscar Andrews, the son of Abel and Amina was one of these two who died from influenza.
  • At the same time, a Harley Oscar Andrews immigrated to the US in 1921[8], although the DOB is 1882. It is possible he lied about his age, or a clerical error was made, so a question remains.
  • No further information found.
