Biography

William Angell was born to John Angell and Patience (Duck) Angell on 29 December 1797 in Calne, Wiltshire, England, although there is some doubt that he was their son, as all their other children were born 1760-1778. Could he in fact be a grandchild? the son of John, who was born 1767?

William married Mary Ann Seymour in 1820 in Calne[1].

William's spouse and date of marriage are as yet unconfirmed, being Mary Ann Ford and/or Rachel Hawkins. Further research is pending.

William and his spouse had the following children: Harriett, John, George, Ann, Mary Ann, Robert, and Sarah.

William died in Calne, Wiltshire, in 1877. [citation needed]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:

Looks like William Angell had two wifes

1st Mary Ann Seymour, who died in 1825 2nd Mary Ann Ford, who he married in 1827.

And possibly a generation jump has happened...

Williams parents look to be John Angell and Ann Smith..

John Angell, parents are John Angell and Patience Duck

A lot of research has been done on Family Search, with sources...

William Angel christened 21 Jan 1798 and born 27 Dec 1797 (son of John Angell and Ann) seems like to be this one?

"England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N6M8-4MN : 10 February 2018, William Angell, 27 Dec 1797); citing item 26, index based upon data collected by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City; FHL microfilm 1,279,348.

I agree with these facts on William Angell. Also he could not have married Mary Ford because Mary Ann (Seymour) Angell was still alive on the 1881 census living with her daughter Ann and Ann's husband in Frogmore Lane.

Is this the 1881 Census record, where a Mary A Angell is recorded as a stepmother to Annie ?

I removed Mary Ann Hawkins as a spouse for William--married the same day because records clearly show he married Mary Ford on 12 Feb 1827 in Calne, Wiltshire.
Angell-968 and Angell-263 appear to represent the same person because: Exact dates and same spouse. Parents to be merged as well
Angel-385 and Angell-263 appear to represent the same person because: same name and dates
Angell-660 and Angell-263 appear to represent the same person because: DoB and DoD match, as do the locations for both events
