Miriam Ellen Ankeny, daughter of Wilbur Joseph Ankeny and Anna Ella (Northrup) Ankeny, was born on 10 Nov. 1895[1] at Beatrice, Gage County, Nebraska, USA.[2][3] Her mother died a few days after her birth[4] and she and her sister, Kate, were raised by their aunt and uncle. She and Kate appeared on the census of 2 June 1900 in the household of their uncle, Artemus Andrew "Art" Edwards and their aunt, Albina May (Northrop) Edwards, sister of her mother, at 79 Church St., Westfield, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. She married Clare August Stewart, son of Bernard Augustus Stewart and Emily Sylvia "Emma" (Northrup), on 30 July 1919 at Fort Morgan, Colorado.[4]
She and Clare appeared on the census of 27 Jan. 1920 at Wiggins, Morgan County, Colorado.[5] She and Clare appeared on the census of 9 April 1930 at Muskegon, Muskegon County, Michigan.[6] She and Clare appeared on the census of 12 April 1940 at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. [7]
Miriam died on 23 Jan. 1994[1] at Overland Park, Kansas[4], at age 98 and was buried in at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. Her memorial has a photo of her headstone shared with her husband.[8]
