Biography

Mary Appleton, d/o Samuel and Judith (Everard) Appleton; bpt 10 Dec 1616 in Little Waldingfield; prob. d. young.[1]

This Mary Appleton did not marry Nathaniel Thomas. (Mrs. Mary Appleton, b at Ipswich 15 April, 1673, married 20 June, 1694, Nathaniel Thomas of Marshfield, d 7 October, 1727 : he d in 1738.)[2]

A Mary Appleton was buried 13 Aug 1623 at St. Mary the Virgin, Ardleigh, Essex, England about 20 miles from Little Waldingfield.[3] A possible 1629 burial record for sister Judith was found about 45 miles away at Reydon, Suffolk so maybe the family was moving around prior to their emigration. Mary's burial has not supplemental information such as daughter or widow (neither did Judith's).

Unsourced death 5 Jun 1676. Does this belong to someone else?

This Mary Appleton married Thomas Seborne 06 Sep 1632 in Westhorpe, Suffolk, England. She is recognized as the daughter of her sister Judith and "the wife of Mr. Sibborne of Langham" in the will of Mary Everard of Wethersfield, Essex, dated 1643, proved 1648. This will specifically mentions Mary Everard's sister Judith Appleton "nowe in New England" and her sister Sarah, wife of Daniel Rogers. Mary Appleton Sibborne stayed in England when her parents immigrated to New England. Thomas Seborne/Sebborne/Sebborn was the curate of Langham Church from 1637 and rector 1650-69, was also a puritan but conformed in 1662.
