By 1901 the family were living at 71 Douglas Terrace, Middlesborough. Elizabeth was shown as married, but her husband was not present on the night of the census.[7]

The family were still at the same address in 1911.[8] The record shows that they had been married for 28 years and that four children had been born to the marriage who were all still living.

Elizabeth died on 12th February 1935.[9] Probate records show that she was a widow and that her usual address was 140 Oxford Road, Linthorpe, Middlesborough. Probate was granted to Reginald Barnard Smiles, plumber and Mark Ridley Baker, sanitary engineer on 12th March 1935 and her effects were valued at £946 12s. 9d.[10]
