Aquina-1 and Aquino-134 appear to represent the same person because: They share the same parents and husband. The names "Aquina " or "Aquinas" does not exist in that time and region, even if are sometime used in Anglo Saxon documents. The correct first name is "Sibilla" and the (still existing) family name is d'Aquino, as correctly mentioned in FMG data base "MEDIEVAL LANDS - Italy - Central Italy counts of Aquino " Other sources: it.wikipedia.com Tancredi di Altavilla; same Sibilla d'Aquino. Biography: She married Tancredi di Altavilla, conte di Lecce and last living male (illegitimal) descendant of his family. When his uncle. Gugliemo II il buono died, Costanza d'Altavilla, last legitimate heir to the throne of Sicily, and his husband Heinrich VI Holy Roman Emperor, were engaged to resist to a rebellion of German feudal princes, so Tancredi was crowned King of Sicily with the support of local aristocrats and of the Pope that were afraid of the German Imperial rule. In a short time both Tancredi and his Young son died and Sibilla remained queen of Sicily pending the majority of his second son. Meantime the Emperor, that already twice had tried to conquer the South of Italy without success, having settled his problems with the rebellious Counts and Dukes, came down to the South of Italy with an adequately strong army and occupied Sicily. The emperor offered good terms to convince Sibilla to surrender, but as soon as this appened, first blinded, than killed the young heir and took Sibilla and two daughters as prisoners to Germany. They managed to escape with the protection of the King of France and Sibilla died in that country.
