Biography

Eusebe Theodule Arceneaux was born on April 17 1812, in Assumption Parish, Louisiana, to Eusebe Alexandre Arceneaux and Marie Aimee Blanchard. Sponsors (christening):Eusebe ARSENAUX, pat. grandfather, and Marie HEBERT, mat. grandmother.[1]

On 30 Dec, 1833, he married Marie Aucoin, daughter of Gregoire Aucoin and Marguerite Aucoin.[2] Children:

His wife, Marie, died in 1838.

On 30 Jan 1843, he married Marguerite Azelie Aucoin, daughter of Isidore Aucoin and Marguerite Daigle. Married 2nd his 1st wife's niece. Azelie's father and Marie were brother and sister.[3] Children:

There is some confusion about Eusebe Theodule's second wife. Most records show Marguerite Azelie Aucoin (b. 1820).

Some show Honorine Azelie Aucoin (b. 1821). This may be confusion with an Honorine Azelie Aucoin from Leesville, Vernon Parish. No parents listed.

Some show Honorine Azelie ( b. 1827). This may be confusion with Marguerite's sibling Honore Euselein AUCOIN (male) b: 24 FEB 1827.

Some show Azelia Honorea Aucoin (b. 1812). This may be confusion with Azelia AUCOIN b: 5 Jun 1812, also from Assumption Parish, but with different parents.

Théodule married Marie, daughter of fellow Acadian Grégoire Aucoin, at the Plattenville church, Assumption Parish, in December 1833. Their son Cyprien Justinien was born in Assumption Parish in July 1835, a child, perhaps a son, name unrecorded, died at age 7 months in April 1836, and Joseph Pierre was born in March 1837. Théodule remarried to Azélie, daughter of fellow Acadian Isidore Aucoin, at the Plattenville church in January 1843; they had to secure a dispensation for third degree of affinity in order to marry. Their son Maximilien or Marcellin Justilien was born in Assumption Parish in October 1846, Joseph died at infant in November 1848, Clairville was born in February 1849, Valsin Aristide in May 1852, and Émile Alcide Gustave, called Alcide, near Labadieville in August 1856 but died at age 5 months the following January. Their daughters married into the Aucoin and Blanchard families.
