The whole Archer line has been conflated so mamy times by so many it's difficult to find the true line. There were 3 Peter Field Archers according to a family bible record I have seen: Peter Field Archer b.1866 d.1829. m. 1st 23 Jan 1787 to Elizabeth Walthall b. 1866 d.1819. 2nd to Judith Cocke. Peter & Elizabth's son Peter Field Archer Jr. b. 3 Aug 1801 Chesterfield VA d. 5 Dec 1877 in Lee MS. Peter Field Archer III b. 15 Sept 1849 d. 12 Dec 1914.

This Archer line starting with John Archer I in b.1644 is difficult to source due to the number of John's, and William's in the line. All of whom were from the Henrico and Chesterfield VA Counties. I keep all of it separated from my tree as sourcing is extremely if not impossible to do. John E. Archer Iowa City, Iowa

This profile is conflated with Archer-1726. Both profiles have the same distinctive name: Peter Field Archer, but the vital data are different. Only the Revolutionary War service records seem to match, and both profiles claim DAR Ancestor # A003001. Would the profile managers please confer and see if you can determine which is correct?
