On November 30,1870 she married Asher Waterman Garber in Richmond,Virginia. They had no children. Virginia (Armistead) Garber authored the book "The Armistead Family: 1635-1910". She died, probably in Richmond,Virginia, August 19,1933 (Franklin D Roosevelt's 1st year as 32nd President). Virginia Armistead Garber is buried in Hollywood Cemetery with her husband of 41 years
