Biography
He was born on 18 October 1842 in Franklin County, Missouri, USA and his parents were Agnes Mosby (Walton, 1821–1903) and Robert B. Armistead (1809–1862).
On 21 September 1862 he enlisted in the military and was mustered in on 26 December 26, 1862 as a Private with Company I. 26th Missouri Infantry. He was discharged for disability on 27 October 1862 at St.Louis, Missouri, USA.
By 1865 George Washington Armistead had first married to Martha Jane Brown 1843–1884 or (1843–1907).
George Washington Armistead married secondly about 1888 to Frances Elizabeth Byrd Armistead (1868–1946).
He died on 27 May 1920 and was buried at Hendrix Cemetery in Franklin County, Missouri, USA. [1]
